What Golf Ball Fits Your Game?

Not all golf balls are created equal—and if you’re serious about improving your game, testing different balls could be one of the most impactful (and underrated) ways to take control of your performance.
At South Bay Golf Club, our TrackMan technology gives you instant feedback on spin rates, launch angles, carry distance, and roll out—making it the perfect place to test out a few different ball options. Whether you’re comparing Titleist Pro V1 vs. TaylorMade TP5, or seeing how a softer ball stacks up to a firmer option, we’ve got the tools to help you dial it in.
Start by grabbing a couple sleeves of golf balls you’ve been curious about. Play a few simulated rounds, or just hit full shots and short wedges. You might notice that one ball spins way too much, causing shots to balloon and fall short—while another might carry farther and roll out more, giving you the distance you’ve been looking for.
If your swing already creates a lot of spin, you may want something with a lower spin profile. On the flip side, if you struggle with stopping power on approach shots, a higher-spinning ball might be the fix.
Testing golf balls at our indoor golf club in Hermosa Beach gives you clear, trackable data—so you’re not just guessing which ball “feels” better, you actually know what works best for your game.
